The Olympic Club: Hole 6

The final hole in what some are calling the toughest opening 6 holes in golf history, Hole 6 is a long par 4 that plays at 489 yards.  The hole was some 50 yards shorter in 1998, which allowed many players to hit wedge into the green.  The course's only fairway bunker is on this hole, and now requires a 295 yard carry to clear.  Many players will hit a wood or iron for positioning, so expect to see approaches from longer distances on this hole.  Players hope to come out of this stretch of holes alive and ready to pick up some strokes throughout the rest of the round.
