2012 Masters Tournament Par 3 Contest

Well, the Par 3 contest at Augusta National is in the books.  The final night before the tournament begins.  Many of the golfers used this final day to prepare and just rest, while others participated in the annual Par 3 competition.

The weather did not cooperate to allow all of the golfers to finish their rounds.  The yearly battle between Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player did not complete the tournament.  But there still was some excitement.  Jonathan Byrd and Padraig Harrington completed their rounds at 5 under and were declared the winner.  But that does not bode well for them going into the tournament.  Never has a player won the Par 3 tournament and The Masters in the same year.  But that could all change.  It takes one good week.

There were also 2 hole in ones made, one by Mark Wilson on hole 4, and one by Thomas Bjorn on hole 9.
