Day one at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions got underway on a wet, stormy, windy day. Gale force winds and driving rain forced the players to struggle their way through the early holes. Webb Simpson was off to a 3-under start through 7 holes before play was suspended due to the weather. Eventually, the PGA Tour decided to cancel Round 1 play and erase the current scores. The decision helped players like Scott Stallings and Keegan Bradley who were over par for the early part of their round. Several players had yet to begin their round which made the decision to cancel play a case of fairness. Play will get under way tomorrow if the weather cooperates.
