Ahh, it is finally that time of year again. A tradition unlike any others. There is no other tournament in the golf world that comes close to the fanfare and prestige of The Masters.
Players arrived today to start the biggest week of the year. The weather, once again, is perfect. The course is in pristine shape. But the Azaleas are not in bloom. The weather has caused the plants to flower earlier than normal, so the colorful course is now draped in green. But that cannot take away from the luster of the Masters.
Hunter Mahan is coming off his second win of the year. He is arguably playing the best of anyone in the world right now. But will he win the tournament? The players got out for their first official practice day today. And I'm sure each and every one of them took in everything about Augusta. There is no better place to be in the golf world than Augusta in early April.
Look for more analysis tomorrow, including a breakdown of key pairings, as well as coverage from the Par 3 contest on Wednesday and tournament reports Thursday-Sunday. Until then, Hit em straight!
